While wearing plastic might sound scary and
pretty ridiculous, you don’t have to end up looking like a crazy Kat
Slater-Barbie hybrid. High Street and online retailers have some great shiny or
patent pieces which won’t leave you looking like you've been dipped in varnish,
and will give your outfit an edge. Less is more with this look, use high shine
garments as a statement piece or accent an outfit with acrylic jewellery.
Match different textures together. Pair a patent pencil
skirt with a super fluffy jumper, contrasting soft and hard. To prevent the
midi length of the skirt cutting off your legs and making you look shorter,
these shoe boots skim the top of the foot to give the illusion of longer legs.
This dress is such a bold statement that
anything too dramatic teamed up with it would be overkill. Keep it simple with
no patterns or flashy accessories. Make sure other items are matte.
Use casual garments to dress down a striking piece. This
T-shirt and scarf are ideal to give this wine coloured skirt a more relaxed
vibe. Feel free to add tights to keep snug in the chilly weather.
For a more subtle incorporation of patent and acrylic into your look, add accessories.
