Unless you couldn't tell from the title, today's post is all about Glastonbury 2016. This was the second year running I was lucky enough to nab
tickets to Glasto, and good lord I’m so happy I went. Yes it rained, yes
is was muddy, but did I give a shit? Hell noooooo!
As per usual travelling to the festival on the Wednesday was a
nightmare. Getting to Glastonbury? 3 hours. Getting in to a festival car park? 7 hours. This is how it went down on Snapchat:
When I finally parked my car at half midnight, like the true diva I am, I obviously refused to pitch my tent in the dark, and instead slept in my car! Camping the next day consisted of roaming the campsite desperately trying to find a good spot that didn’t carry the risk of tent trampling or mudslides, whist trying not to fall over in the swamp walkways and ruining everything I had brought with me! That aside, whist trapesing across the entire site with my rucksack was pretty wanky, it’s all part of the Glasto experience. I can't lie though, next year I do really fancy saving the stress and renting a tipi!

Anyway on to the music! I felt so lucky to see so many artists that I've been wanting to see live. Admittedly there were a lot of scheduling clashes, but with so many stages and artists playing it's unavoidable. I have to put my hands up and say that I may have gotten too drunk and passed out in my tent so that I missed Adele, but hey these things happen! Some of my highlights of artists I actually saw included Låpsley, MØ, Explosions In The Sky, Rejjie Snow, and Muse. But for me there are three artists that truly stole the weekend; Lion Babe, Years & Years, and Coldplay.
If you don’t know who Lion Babe are, GET TO KNOW!!!!!!! Singer Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman make up the neo-soul duo hailing from New York. Jillian has an amazing stage
presence. Her performance is so sexy and fierce. True strong woman vibes. She make
you want to be her or at least be her best friend! I cannot wait to make a
Steal Her Style post about her fashion sense too! Also fun fact, Jillian is the daughter of Vanessa Williams from Ugly Betty & Desperate Housewives.

Years & Years are a band that I’ve been obsessed with
for such a long time now. I remember watching them on the John Peel stage at
Glastonbury 2015 and feeling so proud that the little band from Sound Cloud I used to listen to on repeat were finally getting the mainstream success they
deserve. This year they were upgraded to The Other Stage and they smashed it! The combination of the light up staging, a squad of dancers dressed
in white, and rainbow confetti cannons, made their set really stand out. I love
that singer Olly dressed head to toe in rainbow for Pride weekend (I neeeeed
his jacket). Plus it was an emotional moment when he used his platform at
Glastonbury to empower the LGBT+ community with his message about fear:

Lastly, we need to talk about Coldplay. I must confess that when I found out they were headlining Glasto on the Sunday night I wasn’t really that bothered. Oh how wrong I was! I managed to get relatively close to the front for their set and it blew me away. Every single song was an anthem and the atmosphere in the crowd was electric. Again, like Years & Years, the whole performance was incredible, from the fireworks, to the light wristbands, to the confetti cannons, to the sequences on the big screens. You could not fault Coldplay!
I've put together a short playlist of my fave tracks from the weekend below. Have a listen!
Glasto is so much more than music too. Unfortunately I missed out on the advanced viewing of Finding Dory at Pilton Palais on Sunday morning. I was gutted, but 100,000 people at the festival and one showing meant that the odds were always stacked against me! I've got to say, the food at Glasto is pretty darn good too! You can get everything from a full roast dinner in a giant Yorkshire pudding, to locally made cakes & ice cream, to ostrich burgers with gourmet toppings, and full English breakfasts to cure even the most stubborn of hangovers! Don't worry Mum, I still had at least one smoothie a day and as much fruit as possible! Also I have to give a shout out to Anna Mae's Mac 'n' Cheese for some of the best mac I've ever had.

I had the best time at Glasto! Now I'm home, I’ve got Glasto-blues and I’ve got it bad! But luckily I have Beyoncé tonight at Wembley Stadium to keep me going!
If you enjoyed this post, let me know down below in the comments. I've also put together my top tips festival survival and will be shortly putting up a post about my top beauty tips for festivals as well, so make sure you check them both out! Plus I took loads of footage from Glastonbury so I'm hopefully going to put together a mini Lookbook on the YouTube Channel soon!

Until Next time!
